14 Friends Episodes That Best Show Monica and Chandler Relationship

If thereโ€™s one iconic TV series that captured the attention and massively influenced peopleโ€™s lives, itโ€™s โ€œFriends.โ€ You get to meet and relate with Ross and Rachel’s long and messy love story, Joey’s love for pizza, Phoebe’s quirks, Monica’s OCD, and Chandler’s sarcastic humor. But one of the unexpected but incredible additions to the plot is Monica and Chandlerโ€™s relationship. And here are 14 Friends episodes that best show it.

1. The One With the Birth

Season/Episode: Season 1, Episode 23

Episode Aired: May 11, 1995

In this episode, Carol goes into labor and Monica feels envious of the women with babies. Sheโ€™s wondering how they can have it easy when she canโ€™t even have a steady relationship. Chandler told her that when theyโ€™re 40 and still single, they can just be together. This took a hilariously dark turn when Monica asked why he thinks sheโ€™d still be single at 40.

This is one of the episodes that show Monica and Chandlerโ€™s solid friendship before they became a couple.

2. The One With Phoebeโ€™s Husband

Season/Episode: Season 2, Episode 4

Episode Aired: October 12, 1995

In this episode, it was revealed that Chandler and Monica have secrets about each other that the others in the gang donโ€™t know. They were just funny secrets about a third nipple and underwear hanging on the wire but still, you wouldnโ€™t expect them to be able to keep these secrets about each other for a long time. And yes, without even Chandler telling Joey!

3. The One at the Beach

Season/Episode: Season 3, Episode 25

Episode Aired: May 15, 1997

This episode features several little snippets where Chandler keeps on trying to convince Monica that he could be a good boyfriend material for her. On the other end, Monica keeps saying that she just canโ€™t see it, especially with his weird voice. The scenes were so hilarious you couldnโ€™t have expected them to end up with each other after the series.

4. The One With Joeyโ€™s New Girlfriend

Episode Aired: October 30, 1997

โ€œThe One with Joeyโ€™s New Girlfriendโ€ features Joey introducing her new girlfriend, Kathy, whom Chandler asked out at the start of the episode. In this episode, Rachel accidentally reveals that Monica told her how her secret boyfriend (Chandler) is the best in the sack. Throughout the whole episode, you will see Chandler gloating all about it, especially considering how heโ€™s often described as an awkward lover. 6. The One With Rossโ€™s Sandwich

Season/Episode: Season 5, Episode 9

Monica and Chandler continue to keep their relationship a secret, with Joey covering their every track. With all the proofs of intimacy, Joey takes the blame for everything but reaches a breaking point at the end. After he had enough, he claimed Monica as his crazy stalker. With Monicaโ€™s high-strung personality, it was surprising how she settled on being labeled negatively just to keep their affair private and have more time for themselves.

7. The One With Rachelโ€™s Inadvertent Kiss

Episode Aired: March 18, 1999

This is the episode where Monica panics over her relationship with Chandler and fears they are getting boring after comparing their relationship with Phoebe and her new boyfriend, Gary. Episode Aired: December 7, 2000

This episode features Monica creating candies to give away to neighbors for free to get to know them. When the neighbors became too abusive, Chandler ran the mob off and comforted Monica afterward.

With Monica and Chandler being incapable of having a baby together, they started to consider other alternatives to get pregnant.
