Many Hollywood actors have come and gone over the years. Some have made lasting legacies, while some seem to have fizzled out before they could make more significant breakthroughs.

1. Taylor Lautner
Taylor Lautner started young in the film industry. But his popularity had a boost when he played Jacob (Edward’s romantic rival) in the “Twilight” film series. Sadly, when the “Twilight” series ended, Lautner’s popularity also gradually dwindled.
2. Sam Claflin
Sam Claflin played Finnick in “Hunger Games.” After this stint, he got a lead role in the romantic drama “Me Before You.” Unfortunately, his career did not fully take off as expected. Eventually, he became choosy with the roles he played.
3. Liam Hemsworth
Playing Jennifer Lawrence’s best friend in “Hunger Games” is Liam Hemsworth. Despite the movie making it big, his career did not take a trajectory similar to his brother’s, Chris Hemsworth. He played lead roles in some romantic dramas, but his career still experiences a dip currently.
4. Shailene Woodley
Often tagged as the next Jennifer Lawrence, Shailene Woodley was most famous for playing Tris in the “Divergent” series. None of her other roles seemed to take her higher up the ladder. Critics believe her relationship with Aaron Rodgers aggravated her career.
5. Larisa Oleynik
Larisa Oleynik was another star who looked promising as she took on the lead role of Alex Mack in a TV series. She starred in some 90s films, but that was about it. Some say she disappeared from the limelight because of an issue with a stalker.
6. Sara Paxton
Sara Paxton was a singer and an actress who was being set up to become the next big thing. She was one of the lead stars of “Aquamarine,” a popular mermaid movie. Despite these and an Emmy nomination, Paxton’s career failed to sustain momentum.
7. Mia Wasikowska
Mia Wasikowska’s face is most recognized for playing Alice in “Alice in Wonderland” and its sequel. Many thought she would have more projects lined up for her. Unfortunately, viewers did not see more of her on the big screen.
8. Skeet Ulrich
For a time, there was so much hype about “Riverdale” and who would play Archie. When Skeet Ulrich got this role, he became an artist to watch out for. But he did not get enough hype for his career to gain full traction.
9. Taylor Kitsch
“John Carter” was a much-talked-about film in 2012, and so was its lead star, Taylor Kitsch. It is tragic that he did not become more popular despite the movie’s success. He did star in other films, but none seemed to give him the career boost he needed.
10. Dane Dehaan
Dane Dehaan was in several sci-fi action movies like “Spider-Man”, “Chronicle”, and “Valerian.” He was talented and took challenging roles, so his fizzling out is sort of mind-boggling. Some say bad casting in “Valerian” is what pulled him down.
11. Brandon Routh
Brandon Routh, who played Superman in “Superman Returns,” was every inch a heartthrob. However, surprisingly, he did not have a flourishing career after and outside of that. People say that his move to lie low was to mend his personal life.
12. Hayden Christensen
After playing Anakin Skywalker in the blockbuster “Star Wars,” many had high hopes of seeing more of Hayden Christensen on screen. While he did star in other fairly successful films like “Jumper,” he did not gain the same popularity he had as Anakin.
13. Theo James
Apart from being the heartthrob, Four, in the “Divergent” series, Theo James is also known for his roles in the TV series “The Time Traveller’s Wife.” Given his versatility in acting, why he isn’t getting bigger projects remains a question.
14. Alex Pettyfer
Alex Pettyfer starred in “Magic Mike” and “I Am Number Four.” Women raved about him in the latter. He allegedly had terrible work ethic and was abusive to a former partner. So, when his career started falling off, critics thought he deserved it.
15. Josh Hartnett
Josh Hartnett is another actor who was a favorite among the 90s teens. He has worked with other big names and starred in blockbuster movies. Some say he decided to lie low because he wanted to focus on his family.
16. Eliza Dushku
Eliza Dushku supposedly had the future in her hands. Having proven her talent in movies and TV shows, people believe she should have been a big star.
However, the big bosses in Hollywood allegedly took advantage of her, which is why she opted to bail out of showbiz.
