Have you ever wondered what makes you behave the way you do? Philip Calvin McGraw, well-known as Dr. Phil, can give you an insight, as can many of his show’s guests.
From guesting on The Oprah Winfrey Show, he creates his own to help individuals with mental health struggles. These are the memorable guests in the 21 seasons of the Dr. Phil show.
1. Zachary Davis – Mom Killer
Dr. Phil interviews Zachary Davis behind bars as he waits for his trial. Davis admits to violently murdering his mother using a sledgehammer. In the interview, the teenager coldly stares at the doctor and answers his questions monotonously.
It’s a creepy and tense episode you’ll never forget.
2. Niki – Pregnant Addict
Niki is an eight-month-pregnant junkie who’s in grave danger, along with the baby in her tummy. Close to her delivery, she continues to live on her van, get high, and earn money through dubious means.
Her family pleads with her to come home and change, but she refuses. The desperation of her family to save her is clear, but she puts her vices first before her baby.
3. Burke Ramsey – JonBenet’s Brother
Burke Ramsey is the odd brother of JonBenet Ramsey, a popular child beauty queen in the 90s who was murdered in 1996. He appears on Dr. Phil for an interview twenty years after the horrific crime.
Burke’s behavior on camera is unsettling and suspicious. He fidgets a lot throughout the interview and even smiles on a few occasions while talking about his sister’s death. It’s bothersome to watch.
4. Aneska – Violent 12-Year-Old Girl
Aneska’s parents describe her as an out-of-control 12-year-old girl. If you watch Dr. Phil’s episode though, it’s way worse than that. She’s a menace to her family who hurts her siblings and sets their bedding on fire.
She also hurts family pets, from their hamster to a baby bird. Aneska claims to hear voices in her head telling her what to do. Her situation is equally pitiful and troubling.
5. Patricia – Lying About Cancer
Patricia claims to have stage three brain cancer. According to her daughter, it’s not true. Her mom tends to make up stories that will gain her attention. She even talks to local news and collects donations for her “operations.” She talks about having many tumors removed from her that detach her face.
Patricia’s daughter believes it all stems from her father’s death. If this is true, she badly needs help.
6. Tanya Ramirez – Relationship With Student
Tanya Ramirez is a high school teacher who gets romantically involved with her 17-year-old student. She gives her number to the minor and accepts the teenager’s advances, which leads to an intimate encounter. Worse, the student films what happened and then sends it to his friends, which spreads throughout the school.
Now, chaos ensues between the sides of the teacher and the student—pointing fingers and suing each other. Who do you think is at fault here?
7. Mackenzie and Family – Violent Family
Mackenzie is a nine-year-old girl with anger issues. In the middle of a tantrum, she screams, bites, and thrashes furniture around. She also tends to be violent, from punching her brother to throwing scissors at her teacher.
She continues treatment filled with high doses of medicines that don’t help. Her family is desperate for a solution, so they write to Dr. Phil.
8. Peyton’s Racist Father
Peyton calls Dr. Phil’s help for his KKK (Ku Klux Klan) dad. He’s been incarcerated for nine years for his actions following his KKK beliefs.
Now, Peyton’s child is half-black, and his father tends to call his grandson names like “ape” and “monster.” He also believes that since the child is not pure white, he’s not human. The episode is heartbreaking because of the innocent child so discriminated against early in his life.
9. Karla – Tyler Perry’s Wife
Karla claims to be the wife of Tyler Perry, a well-known filmmaker, actor, and philanthropist. She says she met Perry through Facebook, where they became friends and even fiances after Perry proposed online.
She claims to have sent around $100,000 to his charities. Her daughters strongly believe their mother was caught in a love scam, but Karla still believes in her online Tyler Perry.
10. Danielle Bregoli – Troubled Teen
“Cash me outside, how ‘bout that (dah)?” If you know this line, then you know Danielle Bregoli. She’s now more popular in the music scene as Bhad Bhabie with her debut solo, “These Heaux.”
The 13-year-old girl admits to stealing her mom’s credit cards and her car. While she seems funny, the situation is terrifying, and things could worsen.
11. Rachel Hutson – Committing Homicide
Dr. Phil conducts another interview behind bars for a special episode; this time, it’s Rachel Hutson. Hutson admits to murdering her mother, who’s extremely sick, from kidney failure to experiencing multiple heart attacks.
She claimed to take her own life after her mother, but she didn’t do so. The entire setup is twisted, considering she just wants her and her mother’s suffering to be over.
12. Haley – Eminem’s Daughter
Haley makes many outrageous claims that leave her family and everyone else scratching their heads. She believes she’s Eminem’s daughter and nine months pregnant with “baby Jesus.”
Despite all the evidence Dr. Phil shows her, she still believes in her lies. Her family claims that she’s just seeking attention.
13. Treasure – Racist Against Her Race
Can you be a racist against your race? Treasure is the proof that it’s possible. Whether it’s pure acting or she believes it, Treasure claims she’s white. She rants off racist comments and even has KKK on speed dial.
Treasure acts like a typical racist person, but when you look at her, she’s black.
14. Samy and Amy – Kitchen Nightmares
Samy and Amy’s first TV appearance was on Kitchen Nightmares, and their behavior was so outrageous that even Gordon Ramsay gave up on them. On Dr. Phil, both are still as close-minded as they were in the other show.
They can’t take criticism and get annoyed over comments about them. They want to defend themselves on television, but their situation worsens.
